The club was founded in January 1985 following the closure of the Winterbourne Camera Club.
It was formed by a group of individuals with an interest in all things photographic to develop their abilities and enjoy the social aspects of the club.
The founding members acquired the use of a room in the Community Centre at Crossbow House,
hence the name of the club, and they have met there ever since.
